Founded in 2018, the brass quartet Tetra Brass is celebrated for its warm, refined sound, energetic performances and innovative programming in concert halls such as the Wigmore Hall London, the Konzerthaus and Philharmonie Berlin, the Solti Hall Budapest, Santa Croce Florence, the Bern Conservatory, the RNCM Concert Hall Manchester, the Lindeman Hall Oslo, the Reitschule Grafenegg and the Isarphilharmonie Munich.

Tetra Brass has performed at the Grafenegg Festival, the Detect Classic Festival, the Wege durch das Land Festival, the Mizmorim Chamber Music Festival, the Entre Vents et Marais Festival and the Eigenzeit Festival of the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra with programs especially designed for the concert venues.

The ensemble appeared on radio broadcasts at WDR 3, BR Klassik, RBB Radio 3 and BBC radio 3.

Tetra Brass' debut album METALL was released in March 2025 with music by Leoš Janáček, Claude Debussy and Anton Simon.

In the 20th Chieri International Competition (Italy), Tetra Brass was awarded the 1st prize "Primo Premio Assoluto" with the highest possible score. The ensemble received further 1st prizes in international competitions at the II International Viennese Spring Music Competition, the IMC – International Music Competition Paris, the 7th Rising Stars Grand Prix – International Music Competition Berlin and the VRŠAC International Chamber Music Competition (Serbia). In 2023, the ensemble was awarded the Förderpreis für Musik der Stadt München.

As a member of the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA), Tetra Brass is part of a network in shaping the future world of classical music, based on the great European chamber music traditions. The four musicians have had the privilege to work closely with Hatto Beyerle, Minna Pensola, Johannes Meissl, Karla Haltenwanger and Patrick Jüdt. The quartet studied chamber music with Raphaël Merlin and Reto Bieri at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. At the FHNW Basel the musicians deepened their skills in the interpretation of contemporary chamber music with Mike Svoboda and Marcus Weiss.

Tetra Brass' approach to music is characterized by creativity, curiosity and experimental openness. This creates a diverse repertoire, ranging from original works from the late Romantic period and the 20th century to contemporary music written especially for the ensemble and premiered by it. In addition to collaborations with composers such as Fabia Mantwill, Anna Sowa, Alex Vaughan, Gregor Hübner, Oscar Mosquera, Manuel Zwerger, Moritz Eggert and Mike Svoboda and interdisciplinary collaborations with Caecilia Thunnissen (director), Heidi Vierthaler (dancer), Sophie Colindres (choreographer/dancer), Robert Seidel (video), Ernesto Molinari (clarinet) and the Grammy-nominated Sirius String Quartet, Tetra Brass regularly performs rediscovered music as well as its own idiomatic arrangements for brass quartet.

As part of the Jeunesse Oorkaan Academy, Tetra Brass developed a staged concert for young audiences in Vienna in spring 2025, which was then presented throughout Austria.

In their concert series "Ursprung" with the four concert formats METALL, ATEM, KRAFT and BEWEGUNG, Tetra Brass explored new aspects of the ensemble's identity by constantly pushing the boundaries of brass chamber music through the interdisciplinary character of the various projects. Since 2023, Tetra Brass has been focusing on the artistic exchange with guest artists and especially on getting in contact with the audience with its new concert series BEGEGNUNGEN.

With the organizations Musethica and Live Music Now, Tetra Brass has continuously performed concerts for people who do not normally come into contact with classical music or who are denied access to concert halls in the years since the ensemble was founded.

The ensemble is supported by the Alfred Töpfer Stiftung V.F.S. and the French Safran-Foundation in the development of the ensemble and its thematically oriented concert programs and recording productions.

As an ambassador for Buffet Crampon, Tetra Brass plays exclusively on instruments by Antoine Courtois.
